There are also four groups of exercises in "IDO."  Kihon Ido is an independent activity, but both "Kata Ido" and Nekoashi Ido" are introductory programs for Kata and Kumite activity.

KIHON IDO

8 forms

Forward movement and two-quarters turn are initiated in this program.

In Kata Ido, there are theree types of turns and three kinds of levels are implemented.

TURNS

1. One quarter turn  -   90 degree angle left face turn

2. Two quarters turn - 180 degree angle pivoting

3. Three quarters turn - 270 degree angle right face turn

LEVELS

1. Jodan Ido -    Upper level

2. Chudan Ido -  Middle level

3. Gedan Ido -  Lower level

NEKOASHI IDO

1)  Forward and Backward (right and left foot forward Nekoashi Dachi Kumite No Kamae

2)  Switch Forward and Backward Nekoashi Dachi Nekoashi No Kamae

3)  Switch to Right and Left, and Left and Right Nekoashi Dachi Kumite No Kamae

4)  Diamond Movement (Right and Left Foot Forward Nekoashi Dachi Kumite No Kamae
